We use, and recommend, these top quality items because they are the best ...
We are always searching for new and exciting products and techniques to improve our already state of the art custom rifles. Many of these products do not have what it takes to make it through the front door of Brown Precision. However, the products that do pass our stringent testing are offered to you as options on your new Brown Precision rifle, or an existing one. You can feel confident with these products because we feel confident with these products.

Conetrol Custom Scope Mounts

We have been using Conetrol scope mounts for years. They are a very clean, strong mount that enables a scope to be mounted lower then most other mounts. Conetrol mounts are a non detachable mount.

Dave Talley Custom Peep Sights

Talley T.N.T. Scope Mounts

Talley T.N.T. Scope Mounts. Click on picture for larger view.     Dave Tally and Gary Turner from Glenrock Wyoming produce what we think are the toughest scope mount in the world today. Lets face it, a scope mount’s job is to hold the scope totally secure in all conditions. The oversized dovetail design, solid steel construction, and recoil shoulders in front and rear of the ring provide 100% security and alignment no matter what. These mounts are available in a quick release version (standard on all Pro-Hunter Elite rifles) that enable scope and rings to be removed and later replaced while maintaining absolute zero. They are also available in non detachable style that is ideal for rifles where removing a scope is not necessary. The quick release version utilizes either levers or standard Torx head screws to secure the ring to the base.

Barrel Band Front Swivel

Barrel Band Front Swivel. 8 x 40 Magnum Base Screws

8 x 40 Magnum Base Screws. Click on picture for larger view.     This is another first for Brown Precision. Years ago we realized that the small 6x48 screws that have been used on scope mounts for decades just weren’t secure enough to hold the larger heavier scope so popular today. Not only did they not hold up under recoil, but would frequently break when a rifle was subjected to unusually rough treatment. The solution was to open the standard scope mount to the beefier 8x40 size. These not only provide almost twice the holding power of the smaller screws, but while enlarging these screws we are able to make sure the action mounting holes are aligned perfectly with the action and barrel. The 8x40 Magnum base screws are highly recommended on any rifle that may be subjected to rough treatment.

Speedlock Firing Pin Spring

Replacing the factory 20 to 22 pound firing pin spring with a beefier 28 to 30 pound spring has a number of advantages. First, the increased lock time aids in accuracy. The harder hit on the primer insures more consistent ignition. This helps accuracy, but more importantly gives better ignition in cold weather. The heavier spring also helps reduce the risk of a “frozen” firing pin when the weather really gets nasty. The Speedlock Firing Pin Spring is standard equipment on the Pro-Hunter and Pro-Hunter Elite rifles, but is highly recommended on any rifle that will be used in harsh weather conditions.
